Patient Safety Conference Scheduled

"Enhancing Patient Safety and Reducing Errors in Health Care" will be the theme of a conference set for Nov. 8-10, 1998, at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences, Rancho Mirage, CA.

This multidisciplinary meeting will build on the highly successful 1996 conference that examined health care errors from a variety of professional and theoretical perspectives.

Participants at this meeting will be exposed to leading research that identifies sources of success and failure in patient safety and applies these findings to achieve measurable improvements. The meeting is expected to generate further research in patient safety and error reduction.

This conference is convened by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Annenberg Center for Health Sciences, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, National Patient Safety Foundation at the AMA, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
